The Nation’s 13th ranked team – The Ohio State University Buckeyes men’s basketball team rolled over High Point, in Columbus, 82-64, Saturday afternoon. This win moved the Buckeyes to a season record of 12-1 while the Panthers of High Point dropped to 6-7 in their season thus far.

C.J. Jackson led all scorers on both sides of the court with 20 points while Kaleb Wesson contributed an additional 17, Luther Muhammad scored a career-best 15 and Andre Wesson hit with 10, nine boards, adding four assists. Ricky Madison was “the moment” for High point with 12 points and eight rebounds while Curtis Holland III hit for 11 points.

The Ohio State University Men’s Basketball team opened the game with an 8-2 lead after a Jackson 3-pointer at the 17:00 mark but High Point responded with a 16-2 run over 5:44 midway through the first half as the Buckeyes went 1-for-9 from the field to take a 22-16 advantage with 7:02 remaining. However, the Buckeyes took advantage of a 13-4 eruption over the remaining 4:56 to maintain a 37-28 lead at the half.

Muhammad scored 14 points over the first 20 minutes while Madison led High Point with six. Ohio State turned 12 Panther turnovers into 14 points in the first half.

The Buckeyes began the second half on a 14-4 run, capped off by another Jackson 3-pointer, to deliver a 51-32 lead with 16:31 remaining. The Buckeyes would expand their lead to as many as 26 while the Panthers would get no closer than 15 the remainder of the game.

The Buckeyes, with the conclusion of this game, closes out its non-conference schedule with the victory.

The Ohio State University will resume Big Ten play when it hosts Michigan State at noon Jan. 5 – I did say host, because I started to say at home!
