Here’s the hole-by-hole scoring:

Aneka started exceedingly well with 3 birdies in her first eight holes and was -3 at that point. Play flattened out a bit and she was -1 through 14 holes, then played her final four holes in -1, featuring a birdie on #18.

Aneka played the par-3s to 3.00 (E), the par-4s to 3.88 (-1) and the par-5s to 4.80 (-1). She had 5 birdies and 10 pars. Aneka  had no score higher than bogey and only three of those.

Niki struggled to get her round going and was +4 through five holes. However, she put together a nice two hour stretch and played the next 10 holes in -1. After a double bogey on #16, Niki closed with two consecutive pars. Her round of +5 isn’t bad when you consider that on 16 holes she was only +1; two holes bumped her round.

Niki played the par-3s to 3.20 (+1), the par-4s to 4.63 (+5) and the par-5s to 4.80 (-1). She had 1 birdie and a team leading 13 pars.

Lauren had a solid front nine and made the turn at +2. She got past a triple bogey on #14 to close with three pars and a birdie on #18. Like Niki, Lauren played very well, even par, for 16 holes. A double and a triple inflated her score.

Lauren played the par-3s to 3.20 (+1), the par-4s to 4.25 (+2) and the par-5s to 5.40 (+2). She had 2 birdies and 12 pars.

After a bogey on #2, Yukie played the next eleven holes in -3. After a bogey on #14, Yukie finished par-par-par-eagle! That was one helluva finish; it moved Yukie from -1 to -3 for the round.

Yukie played the par-3s to 2.80 (-1), the par-4s to 4.00 (E) and the par-5s to 4.60 (-2). She had 1 eagle, 3 birdies and 12 pars. Yukie  had no score higher than bogey and only three of those.

Skylar struggled getting out of the blocks; she was +5 through six holes. Through eleven holes, Skylar was +6 prior to an inspired finish. She played the next eight holes in -1 to get back into the fold of team scoring.

Skylar played the par-3s to 3.00 (E), the par-4s to 4.63 (+5) and the par-5s to 5.00 (E). She had 1 birdie and 12 pars.

Stats & Stuff

Below is a frequency table of how the Buckeyes scored, such as number of birdies, number of pars, etc.

Round Eagle Birdie Par Bogey +2 +3
1 1 12 59 13 4 1
2 0 0 0 0 0 0
3 0 0 0 0 0 0
Total 1 12 59 13 4 1

This was a pretty decent start for Ohio State. They were within a few strokes of the cut line. They were +2 at the turn and through 15 holes were +6. Some heroics on #18 (eagle by Yukie, birdies by Aneka and Lauren) enabled them to pick up a stroke an a couple of positions on the leaderboard.
